It was way back in 2002-2003 , when I took the TCS (Tata Consultancy Services) Bangalore center to the coveted BS 7799 (evolved to ISO 27001 STD later) certification for information security.
A key element of the certification was the creation of Risk Register, a task that was made complex because of the nature of the projects handled by TCS and the various functions - from HR to Admin to Finance - that supported them.
Ganesh handled the task diligently from understanding & appreciating the topic himself, to educating/helping others who created the register, to verifying the compliance to standards and be ready for the certification in a short time.
It showed his ability to understand/appreciate new concepts quickly, the skill to present the same to others as appropriate to their role and more importantly completing an assigned task in the stipulated time.
The way he went about creating champions in individual functions to bring ownership was appreciated as a good practice in the certification audit.
